I was an honour to be asked to create a tutorial for The Gnomon Workshop, entitled Character Creation for Cinematics Vol 1: Modelling.

https://thegnomonworkshop.com/tutorials/character-asset-creation-for-cinematics-vol-1

For this, I designed and modelled a fantasy character that I called Alodia and documented the entire process, resulting in 8 hours of content. I did this in evenings and weekends over a period of months, and the result is hopefully a pretty comprehensive overview of my process. Everything is modelled from scratch using Zbrush, Maya, and Marvelous Designer. Next up will be part 2, texturing! I hope you all like the character and if you do watch the workshop, I really hope you find it interesting and useful in the same way I've benefited from many workshops and tutorials in the past. Many thanks to everyone at The Gnomon Workshop for their patience and for giving me this opportunity. Also thanks to Jeremie at Texturing.XYZ for contributing a VFace skin displacement map pack for her skin detailing, and to Camille Fourniols and Jon Beeston for the feedback and support along the way.
